No, the live workshops are designed for families of tweens, teens, and their trusted adult(s) to take together. We do not allow individual adults to participate without a young person. This best ensures all attending can feel equity within the space as brave questions and conversations take place. We ask that educators or professionals seeking training or puberty and sex education resources contact us to learn about alternatives.

Only one ticket is needed for your family, no matter the number of young people or adults that will be participating. This also means that if you plan to tune in via more than one device within your family, you can do so using the same login link you will receive with your registration. This option is especially helpful for co-parenting families who may be in different physical locations while still participating in the workshop together using separate devices.

Yes, we have several options available to support families. For the live workshops, we designate a few spots each time for free registrations, which are made possible by generous donations from other families who decide to pay a little extra to ensure these sessions are accessible, while also supporting the sustainability of this work. We also offer a pay-what-you-can (PWYC) option for the live workshops, which allow a family to pay whatever amount feels best to them. For the self-paced course, we have payment plans that break up the amount into two or six smaller monthly payments. Contact us here to request a free or PWYC spot for the live workshop. Upon registration, the confirmation email is automatically sent to the email address you’ve entered. This lets you know you’ve been added to the event date. Occasionally, email addresses are entered incorrectly or our email lands in your spam, junk, or promotions folders. Before reaching out to follow-up, please double check all email folders to verify you have not received the confirmation. The Zoom link is sent to registrants an hour before the event, so be sure to check your email folders then to find the link to join the workshop. We know that families’ schedules can be busy, so we accommodate one rescheduling request at no additional cost. If you need to reschedule, you are responsible for watching our website, newsletter, and/or social media for future date options as they’re posted and contacting us when you have identified a viable alternative. If you were to miss attending that second date, you will then be responsible for seeking out a new date and purchasing your registration. It’s important to us that families get to choose how they wish to participate in the session. No one is forced to speak or contribute and all activities begin with an invitation to participate versus coercing or forcing engagement. We design all of our activities within each session with many options to engage, including not to engage, without participants feeling left out of the learning or called out. Also, in the spirit of consent and bodily autonomy, cameras can be kept off and mics muted the whole time, if desired, and you won’t miss a thing.

The live and self-paced puberty course both use gender-inclusive language; teach about many different puberty experiences, including cisgender, transgender, nonbinary, and intersex tweens; have representation of diverse bodies; and, they invite tweens and trusted adults of diverse genders to participate and learn together.

No. Showing pornography to young people is not what comprehensive sex education is about. This workshop incorporates fun activities, games, and family discussion exercises that are grounded in teaching media literacy. These skills help young people and their parents/trusted adults develop a critical lens for the media they consume, so tweens and teens can make safer, informed choices in this highly digital world. The format of the workshop also helps families build greater comfort around talking openly, and without shame, about these often taboo topics.
